Cool Blades

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

I’ve a passion for Gothic and keep looking for more info. Today, I checked if I could find more info by entering ‘Steel Dragon’ in Google and found this:

Most of us really dig RPGs, especially when it comes to looting. We can discover all sorts of artifacts, potions, buffs and the like, and these things improve our characters stats making him/her more powerful. But what would you say about some real artifacts made of shiny metal? Like these cool blades right here. This one is the Death Stalker. Its solid cast metal construction is designed to reproduce an oversized scorpion. You can grip the metal handle and there you have it a piercing bla

Today I used Technorati to find more information on ‘gothic pants’ so I could post it into ‘Gothic Lyrics’. And this is one of the first results I found:

View Comments Holy moly. This men’s sweater from Black Peace Now is an deconstructed Goth eye-catcher - but it costs 12390 yen ($120) and isn’t available from MaruiOne.jp (the only site that ships BPN overseas). If that is so… then how am I modelling this very item? Easy: I made one of my own from a school-marmy black turtleneck! I cut off the turt

Book Review - The Wrong House: The Architecture of Alfred Hitchcock

The Wrong House: The Architecture of Alfred Hitchcock, by Steven Jacobs (available on Amazon USA and UK.) 010 publishers write: In the films of Alfred Hitchcock, architecture plays an important role. Having worked as a set designer in the early 1920s, Hitchcock remained intensely concerned with the art direction of his films. In addition, the ‘master of suspense’ made some remarkable single-set films, such as Rope and Rear Window, that explicitly deal with the way the confines of the set relat

Shinedown - Second Chance

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

People are always asking me to blog more often, well here you go, I looked up some info on ‘Seether’.

The album kicks off with a strident first track (second track actually, I skipped Devour), which is the title track, The Sound of Madness. Id recommend this song for all you headbangers. I love that track that I kept it on rewind for hours and hours (OK, not for the whole day but during my commute to and fro to work today). When the next track kicked in, I thought I unearthed a solid rock album. Second Chance is an awe-inspiring mid-tempo tune that deserves to see the light of the day.

Nagoya-kei to epic gothic metal. Versailles, as before, were stunning….

This Is Life

On my drive into work this morning I was surprised to feel my eyes well up in tears a little as I waited in traffic on the 40th Street Bridge. … I take solace in a verse from Corinthians I know my grandmother would know off by heart: “Death is swallowed up in victory.
